LET’S CUT TO THE CHASE, DESIGN IS REALLY PERSONAL.
So, let’s get personal.
We firmly subscribe to the belief that design goes beyond mere aesthetics (though, admittedly, it doesn't hurt). The essence of a well-designed space lies in curating how you feel and what emotions your environment evokes. Ultimately, understanding the nuances of your day-to-day interactions within a space is paramount to a thoughtfully designed home.
In that spirit, we invite you to gain insight into who we are, just as we seek to understand those for whom we create spaces for.
Fair warning, we’re equal parts experts and extroverts, but when you work with us you’re guaranteed a laugh or two.
THE REMODELISTA SISTA
Meet Teal Davison
Teal hails from Madison, Wisconsin, where she grew up in a household brimming with creativity. Her mom was a self-made interior designer, and her dad had style for days, especially when it came to haberdashery (a fancy word for men's clothing). The family home was always a colorful and unique space that drew in laughs, conversation, and celebration. That's where Teal's design journey unknowingly began. The “nest” became a place that supported fun and togetherness and something she later would want to recreate.
When she headed to boarding school back east, Teal found herself longing for that cozy feeling of home, even in her dorm room. College in Colorado wasn't any different, where she aimed to make crash pads feel more like a comfortable retreat and less like a study break post-party disaster zone.
Teal found her way to the Pacific Northwest and kicked off her career in sports marketing with Adidas. However, the real magic happened when she dove headfirst into the world of design, buying her inaugural property for a transformative remodel-and-sell venture. The journey was a whirlwind of excitement, decisions flowed effortlessly, and with glowing feedback, Teal's destiny was sealed! Over the last 15 years, she's been immersed in ground-up construction, fearlessly tackling projects of all sizes, and honing her craft in the world of construction and interior design. Teal ensures that the design process is enjoyable for everyone involved, injecting a healthy dose of fun and never taking herself too seriously.
Teal calls Portland her home with her family in Irvington. From her own home to projects all over the metro area, Teal is grateful to be in the construction and design world of Portland, OR.
THE MASTER OF STYLING AND “ZHUZH-ing”
Meet Wendy Scott
At the ripe age of 3, Wendy achieved her first major design milestone, winning a coloring contest at the local grocery store! Her prize? A gallon of ice cream, which only fueled her passion for creating more. That passion continued through elementary school where she landed one of her murals on a book cover. In high school she won state for a watercolor, and then went onto to get an art scholarship at Oregon State University.
After college, she immersed herself in the world of marketing and design, initially working for a restaurant chain in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Wendy then took her talents to Nike Design for several years before leaning into her curiosity about all things “people” (otherwise known as Human Resources). Following several years recruiting for Go-To-Market teams, Wendy sought to step outside her comfort zone, leading recruiting and sourcing teams for Tesla Engineering, and later delving into tech consulting. While recruiting was Wendy’s passion for the better part of a decade, it was time to build a career that aligned with her lifestyle, balancing young kids and a desire for constant motion.
For years, Wendy had been the go-to person for friends and family seeking assistance with their interior projects. After her home in SW Portland was showcased on the 2022 Portland Modern Home Tour, she decided to start her own business. This was followed by another feature, highlighting a client project in 2023. For Wendy, every day is a canvas, and she takes joy in experimenting with color and crafting curated spaces. It's safe to say she's found her happy place! She found the parallels between interior design and recruiting to be the perfect blend of what she loves—project management, setting expectations, sourcing (materials and furniture now instead of people), problem-solving, and working on an intense timeline!
The Pacific Northwest has always been home. Her recently completed Southwest remodel, The Treehouse, has been her family home for over a decade.
MEET THE TEAM
ASSOCIATE DESIGNER
Kinsey Bagwell
Kinsey, a Portland native who grew up in Beaverton, Oregon, has always been surrounded by creativity and design. Influenced by her father's artistic talents and her mother's expertise in interior design and crafting, Kinsey found herself captivated by the world of aesthetics from a young age. As a child, she loved nothing more than reorganizing her room and eagerly begged her parents to let her repaint it every year. She embraced bold design choices, incorporating playful elements like the iconic 90s neon blow-up chair, which without a doubt helped spark her lifelong passion for transforming spaces.
Her journey through diverse experiences—ranging from advertising and event management to fishing in the stunning landscapes of Alaska and teaching yoga—has enriched her perspective on design. Yet, it was her time in the healthcare industry that truly ignited her creative autonomy. After a particularly challenging and monotonous day, she made the pivotal decision to pursue her passion for design, enrolling in interior design classes to channel her creativity into a fulfilling career.
Now residing in Southeast Portland, Kinsey thrives on collaboration and meticulous attention to detail. With a strong background in project management and concept development, she blends artistry with an understanding of the psychology behind captivating spaces. Her mission is to create unforgettable experiences that bring her clients' visions to life. Kinsey couldn’t be happier helping others transform their design dreams into reality, making each project a unique reflection of their individuality.
