Goodbye 2023, Hello 2024

Our theme for the past year has been all about gratefulness and gratitude. Grateful that we are at a time in our lives when we can create a new business and gratitude for all of our clients, friends, and mentors who have helped guide us. It's been a wild ride for Teal & Scott – a true start-up rollercoaster with its fair share of highs and lows. But you know what? Despite the challenges, it's been incredibly rewarding.

Running a small business is no walk in the park, especially when you find yourself in the lowest of lows, wondering how on earth to navigate the chaos. Teal and I, both having owned our own businesses before, thought we knew the ropes. Little did we know that merging companies and adapting to a new way of working with a partner would bring a whole new set of experiences.

We're in a constant state of questioning – ourselves, the business, and everything in between. Learning new things, taking two steps forward, and occasionally one step back. It might sound like a recipe for worry, but truth be told, it keeps us nimble. We're always challenging ourselves, and that's the key to staying ahead.

Teal and I have embraced the ambiguity of this journey with open minds. We're not afraid to explore new paths, and that flexibility wouldn't be possible without a partner who shares my work ethic. What I really value about Teal is that she gets my grit and hustle because she's got the same fire in her. I move fast, pivot when needed, and am always planning ahead. It's a great balance between us, and neither feels like they're carrying more weight than the other.

What sets Teal and me apart is our unwavering commitment to our future goals and what we want from this business. I'm genuinely thankful our paths crossed in November 2022. Here's to the journey and the shared hustle!

Let's rewind and take a stroll through the past year:

JANUARY

We kicked things off with our very first strategy and ideation session, mapping out the potential for our brand. It was all about identifying our strengths and weaknesses, figuring out which areas needed some extra support in the business.

APRIL

Teal and I dove into the world of branding. We got to know each other's clients, and checked out previous projects and locations for some photo ops, all while building that essential trust between us. This is also the month we introduced lawn chair chats, as a starting place to figure out how to communicate with our digital community.

JUNE

Summer vibes hit as we officially launched our social platforms and website. We set some exciting goals for the future and started the process of merging our two businesses. And yes, we managed to squeeze in some quality time with our kids during those sunny months.

OCTOBER

Getting down to business, we sorted out our finances and kicked off our first joint projects under Teal & Scott LLC. On top of that, we kept refining our operational documents and processes for our digital community.

Looking ahead to the new year, we've got more clarity than ever. Our foundation is in place, and we're working hard to solidify it. Feeling pretty darn good about the direction we're headed, and none of it would be possible without all of you. Big shoutout to our clients, the "fans" (as they say), our friends, parents, spouses, and kiddos for being part of this journey with us. Seriously, we couldn't do it without you.
