Where to begin on a closet upgrade?
Alright, it's that moment where your closet is practically begging for an upgrade! You've attempted the whole color-coded top thing, the shoe sorting saga, the college t-shirt purge, and the attempt to hang pants that just refuse to stay put. Been there, done that. Revamping your closet is basically the adulting version of transforming from your messy, "I'll just shove it in there" self to someone on the verge of becoming a Real Housewife. Okay, maybe not that extreme, but you catch my drift. It's closet upgrade time.
BUT HOW?

In our Verde Vista Project, began by assessing the client's storage needs, considering the types and quantities of pieces that would be stored in the closet. Taking into account the clean and modern aesthetic, we chose a neutral color palette for the closet's interior. Customized shelving, drawers, and hanging rods were strategically arranged to maximize storage capacity and facilitate efficient organization.
No need to persuade your spouse or bribe your buddies. Did you know that most closet design companies will happily send someone over to measure your closet and the spaces you're dealing with?...ummm for free! They'll redesign that space in no time. Picture this: Organized sweaters where hangers don't create weird shoulder bumps, shelving reaching for the skies, and a design that might include hooks, pull-out drawers, and backlit mirrors–oh my! It's like a closet makeover magic trick waiting to happen!

Here are 4 things to think about before your closet measure happens:
PURGE: Get rid of everything you have not worn in the last 2 years (this is hard) Bag and donate it. STAT…so we are not struggling with moving in old goods when the new goods arrive - then you can install in color coordinated fashion only with the items you love
ORDER: All wood or all felt hangers (I love the high drama of the black hanger head) for the big move-in day. It will uniform and organize your space in a flash. Keep in mind the felt hangers take up less space.
BEFORE INSTALL: Keep in mind any flooring upgrades or paint touch-ups in the closet should happen before the scheduled install, closets are anchored on the floor so any changes there need to happen first.
LIGHTING: This is key in the closet–make sure to look at your plan and ensure no cans are covered by your new storage sanctuary. If you have a flush mount light make it a 2700K warm light (you should know by now my bulb game is “serious business”) and make it bright and big. We need to see the navies from the royals. We love this light for a closet. You know we’re not afraid to add a color to cheer up our closet.
YO! PRO TIP: Get a cute hamper…Can you roll’er on down the hall? Or do you need to hump a bag to the next level? I literally have never loved anything more than this Ikea laundry bag. It is bulletproof and so easy to stuff and haul.
